OEKO-TEX standaard 100

Oeko-tex (Ökotex) is originally a German organization that has a strict policy against harmful substances in textiles. Oeko (OKO) stands for Eco, and Tex fabric stores. Ecotextiel so! Oeko-Tex was founded in 1992, because at that time many news was about harmful chemicals in textiles and clothing.

To do something about that, and prove that clothing can be made without harmful substances, the Oeko-TEX100 standard was created. The requirements in this standard are very strict, and are also strictly controlled.

The Öko-Tex Standard 100 label is no EPA, but a label that gives guarantees in terms of health. Because of this angle, Ökotex certainly makes demands on environmental pollutants such as heavy metals, harmful dyes and pesticides.

Ökotex standard 100 can be found on clothing, toys and bedding that has been tested for substances which (may) be harmful to health. It mainly concerns allergic reactions. The requirements for baby textiles are the most severe. (Category I)

For people
When 'human ecology' is about the impact of chemicals and other substances used in clothing, on the health and welfare of consumers and carriers of those clothes. On these two stages of the textile is Oeko-tex 100 standard applicable. It is therefore considering harmfulness of the textile workers and consumers, and is well verified that workers can work comfortably and without.

The good thing about Oeko-Tex is that they have a lot of experience; they have been active for almost 20 years. They also perform many checks on the companies that use the Oeko-Tex label. With the testing and certification system of the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is the high quality of the user of textile respected but the complex production conditions at the same time, the global organization, highly developed international processing and different views on the handling of potentially hazardous agents in channeled
